Project Management

Many companies start a project based on a need to resolve pressing issues.  When formal project management processes are not followed, projects tend to fail to meet objectives and do not stay within the desired timelines, scope, or budget.  Nexix's highly accomplished consultants follow proven processes to get projects back on track in order to meet your organization's objectives.

Investigate

We typically start our engagements by investigating the progression of the project in a sequential manner to determine the delta between how the project was organized and delivered compared to best practices.  During our investigation we will review the following components of the project:

  • Project Objectives - Were the objectives clear and agreed to by all key stakeholders, or was there ambiguity and/or disagreements among the stakeholders?
  • Project Charter - Was a Project Charter developed that included a high level scope statement, high level milestones, a description of project governance, and a vision statement that defined the criterion for determining the project success?
  • Business Requirements - Are the business requirements all encompassing or are there gaps that should be addressed?  Are the business requirements up to date, and do all of the key stakeholders agree that the business requirements are complete and accurate?
  • Project Plan - Was a formal Project Plan created that aligns to best practices?

Nexix has highly experienced consultants who are trained in the Project Management Institute's best practices and have achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Analyze and Develop a Project Plan

Once the investigation is completed our team of project managers, business analysts, and technical experts will analyze the findings.  A detailed project plan is then created that will include the following components:

  2. Schedule Management Plan
  3. Cost Management Plan
  4. Communication Management Plan
  5. Process Improvement Plan
  6. Staffing Management Plan
  7. Quality Management Plan
  8. Risk Management Plan
  9. Procurement Management Plan

Present our Project Plan

Nexix will present our plan for review and approval by key stakeholders.  Any issues brought forth will be addressed and the plan modified accordingly. 

Go Forward Approach

Nexix will collaborate closely with you and your colleagues to develop a Go Forward Approach that follows best practices.  We will ensure that:

  • Project objectives are clear and agreed to by key stakeholders
  • A complete project management plan is developed, which follows the Project Management Institute's best practices
  • A change control process is established to control the scope of the project
  • Business requirements are completed, agreed to, and signed off by the project sponsors
